Summary of exhibition activities in 2022
During the autumn, Willo exhibited at some of the most important trade fairs for the manufacturing and healthcare industry – Elmia Subcontractor and Medica/Compamed. The trade fairs exceeded our expectations, and we are already looking forward to the next editions in 2023.
The Elmia Subcontractor exhibition is one of the most important arenas for the manufacturing industry to meet and discuss trends, challenges, knowledge, innovation and the future. For Willo, the 2022 edition of Elmia Subcontractor exceeded expectations, and we are already looking forward to the next edition in 2023.
The packed programme and the activities on the stages and in the inspiration arenas were characterised by four themes:
- Smart Industry
- Sustainability
- Expertise
- Collaboration
The 2022 edition of Elmia Subcontractor attracted almost 11,000 visitors and featured a total of 820 exhibiting companies from 23 countries. Willo was one of them!
For us at Willo, Elmia Subcontractor is a key forum when it comes to showing that we are a leading supplier to the industry – both in Sweden and globally. This year’s exhibition gave rise to many rewarding meetings on our stand, along with visits from existing customers as well as those curious to find out more about possibilities to work and grow together in the future.
Looking purposefully to the future
At a time when the world around us is characterised by uncertainty, the manufacturing industry is facing major challenges, and we need to meet these challenges together in order to remain competitive on the global market. This was very much in evidence at Elmia Subcontractor, with attendees exhibiting strong belief in the future and a desire to turn today’s challenges into tomorrow’s opportunities.
Despite facing crisis after crisis in recent years, Swedish suppliers have succeeded in maintaining high order levels, and the Subcontractor Barometer also confirms the positive atmosphere at the exhibition – with companies looking purposefully to the future. It was clearly evident that both exhibitors and visitors were at Elmia Subcontractor to find solutions by creating new contacts and new business opportunities.
Sustainability in focus
More than ever, the 2022 edition of Elmia Subcontractor was characterised by sustainability, with a consistent theme being the importance of taking action here and now – in order to be able to commence the journey towards a more sustainable industry.
Here at Willo, we commenced our own sustainability measures in 2022, gaining approval in accordance with the criteria and goals set by EcoVadis. We know this is something that is highly valued by many customers.
Medica/Compamed brings together the global healthcare industry
While Elmia Subcontractor was taking place in Sweden, we were also on location at the Medica/Compamed trade fair in Düsseldorf in Germany, an event that attracted more than 81,000 visitors from various parts of the global healthcare industry. A total of 5,000 exhibitors from 70 different countries were on location to demonstrate the latest components, products and processes – which in turn drive the development of innovations in outpatient care and clinical healthcare.
For the past few years, Willo has co-exhibited at Medica/Compamed together with AMB and Tingverken. This collaboration has proven very successful, as there is a high frequency of visits when three operators share the same stand.
No less than 75 percent of the visitors to the trade fair were international trade visitors, the majority of whom came from Europe, followed by South Korea, USA, India and various North African countries.
Compamed brings together many of the market’s leading medical contract manufacturers, and the latest edition provided Willo with excellent opportunities to renew acquaintances with long-standing customers as well as new and potential customers. Those who visit the trade fair are typically development managers and purchasing officers, and the visitors to our stand were mainly from Europe and USA.
On returning home we have had plenty of leads to follow up in the dental, orthopaedic and endoscopic areas, and this work has resulted in a number of enquiries that will be exciting to monitor moving forward.
