Willo handles the toughest tasks

All projects at Willo require expertise in both technology and metrology. This enables us to maintain an extremely high and consistent quality. Willo precision, we call it.

“We do our utmost in all stages of a project. “We make the right decisions from the very beginning and are able to satisfy strict requirements,” says Peter Hultqvist, Technical Director at Willo.

Willo precision is present in every part of the company’s work, from the preparation and implementation of a new product to serial production, measurements and final delivery. Company management ensures the appropriate equipment and expertise for project management and preparations, cutting processes, measuring principles and regulatory requirements.

Collaboration

Peter Hultqvist, Willo’s technical director, works closely with metrology technician Mattias Karlsson.

“Choosing the right methods for measurements is just as important as choosing the right manufacturing process. We are highly adept at both, and that is our strength. Our processes provide a better overall economy. The customer pays for safety and quality,” says Peter Hultqvist.

High investment rate

The entire business idea is to maintain the highest product class. The investment rate is therefore high for both the technology and metrology. Examples include the purchase of a machine for hard part turning with automatic measurement control, as well as a multi-operational machine with the potential for unmanned production. Another example is the coordinate measuring machine (CMM) and an optic scanner.

Good routines

In addition, good routines and ongoing inspections are also required. Metrology technician Mattias Karlsson explains:
“We calibrate our machines every week to make sure that the measurements are correct. For larger equipment, we bring in external service technicians each year to  ensure that the equipment measures are according to specifications.”

Security for the customer

Mattias Karlsson believes that his collaboration as a metrology technician with both the technical director and project manager provides greater security for the customer.

“I am involved early on in the quotation stage of a project, where I answer any questions and offer input on the documentation. When we receive an order, I work closely with the machine technician to come up with solutions for the challenges involved in the project and report to the project manager.”

Interesting assignments

The best part of his job is the chance to be involved from the beginning in a new (often difficult) customer assignment.

“One of our customers produces prosthetic limbs. “It is fantastic that we can manufacture details that are essential for people who have lost an arm or a leg. Even if we only make one small part, we can see the complete project.”

It’s all connected

Willo has the ability to see the big picture.

“Basically, it’s all connected. We know that our customers appreciate our work methods, and they return with new challenges,” says Mattias Karlsson.
